About The Event
Blue Water EduFest sparks a transformative movement, empowering communities to become stewards of marine conservation and create a sustainable legacy that echoes across generations. This year’s event would cover 3 main segments.
7 - 8 NOVEMBER
Between Surface and Depth
The conference brings together subject matter experts to discuss on three core issues: High Seas Treaty, Blue Carbon and Deep Sea Mining.
The conference agenda covers the key topics below
High Seas Treaty
This treaty aims to achieve a coordinated approach to establishing marine protected areas on the high seas (areas that lie beyond national jurisdiction), conserving ocean biodiversity and reaching the global community's “30×30” target to conserve or protect at least 30 percent of the ocean by 2030.
Blue Carbon
Blue carbon is the term for carbon captured by the
world's ocean and coastal ecosystems such as
mangroves, salt marshes and seagrasses.
Deep Sea Mining
Deep-sea mining is the process of extracting and often excavating mineral deposits from the deep seabed of depths greater than 200m. This seabed covers about two-thirds of the total seafloor. Research has concerns that deep-sea mining could severely harm marine biodiversity, ecosystems, and disturb carbon story systems.

Other Segments
8 NOVEMBER
In collaboration with Tatler Gen.T, this event is specially curated to support, promote, and inspire young and passionate eco-champions to push the boundaries of marine conservation in their communities.
This platform will provide a space for young eco-champions to pitch their ideas to our judges for funding and resources to further implement their conservation projects and efforts for the ocean.
9 NOVEMBER
In conjunction with our long running ONE°15 Eco Month, the marina clean up activates participants and sponsors to ramp up team efforts to keeping our oceans clean.
This includes the removal of marine debris and recycling all necessary materials collected to protect marine life, improve water quality and security for marine lives, and most importantly to create a safe and sustainable marine ecosystem for generations ahead.
